🏡 BUYERS — READ THIS BEFORE YOU CLOSE!
One of the biggest mistakes I see buyers make is making financial moves right before — or during — the home-buying process without talking to their lender first.
Here’s what you need to know 👇
🚗 DON’T finance a new car.
🛋️ DON’T finance new furniture.
💳 DON’T open a new credit card or take on new debt.
Even if you’ve already been pre-approved, your lender may review your credit and financial picture again before closing. New debt or changes to your finances can affect your loan — so when in doubt, talk to your lender BEFORE making a big financial move.
And here’s another BIG one:
💰 Your down payment is NOT the same as your closing costs.
Your down payment goes toward the purchase price of your home.
Your closing costs can include things like lender fees, taxes, insurance, title/attorney fees, and other costs associated with completing the transaction.
Think of it this way:
🏠 Down Payment = your contribution toward purchasing the home
📑 Closing Costs = the costs involved in getting the transaction to the closing table
Knowing the difference — and budgeting for both — can help prevent an expensive surprise right before closing.
This is why having the right people in your corner matters. 🤝
My job is to walk you through the process step by step, connect you with trusted lenders, attorneys, inspectors, and other professionals, and help make sure you know what to expect along the way.
Buying a home is a BIG deal. You shouldn’t have to figure it all out alone. ❤️
