Hopefully everyone has the snow cleared 3ft around your fire hydrant with a path to the road. Now its time to make sure you cleared the ice and snow away from your gas meter. The image below is a great example of how you'll want your gas meter to look once you have cleared the snow. Accumulated ice and snow can stress the piping on your gas meter which can lead to a leak or create an unsafe condition. As a reminder, if you ever smell gas inside your home please evacuate immediately and call 9-1-1.
