People come to Rey’s Auto Repair for more than car repairs. They come to talk story, share a laugh and know their vehicles are in good hands.

For Rey Juan, owning a business on Kaua‘i was not something he always imagined. He started with a mobile repair business, going house to house and spending more time on the road than fixing cars. As the work grew, he knew he needed a place where the business could grow too.

Grove Farm’s Hanamā‘ulu Shops gave Rey that opportunity.

Today, Rey’s Auto Repair is a family business, with his wife, daughter, son, brother and younger children all part of the team. The shop has become a place where family works together, local businesses stay moving and the next generation can see what hard work can build.

Looking ahead, Rey hopes Ahukini Business Park will give his business room to keep growing — and one day, become something he can hand down to his children.

Next Monday, June 29, a contractor will be conducting survey work along the Lihue-bound lane of Kapule Highway.

As a result, the Lihue-bound lane will be closed from the Hanamaulu intersection to the Ahukini Road intersection. Lihue-bound traffic will be redirected through Hanamaulu at the Hanamaulu intersection.

The lane closure will begin at 9:00 p.m. on June 29 and will conclude at 5:00 a.m. the following morning.

Eastbound traffic will remain open and operate as usual.

In our June newsletter, learn how Kaua‘i Community College Carpentry Technology students gained hands-on experience by building a storage shed for Grove Farm Market. In thanks and support of their continued workforce development, Grove Farm presented the program with a $5,000 grant.

We also congratulate Ashley Vicente and Racyn Ruiz, recipients of the 2026 Grove Farm KCC Academic Awards. Their academic achievement, community service, and commitment to their future careers reflect the promise of Kaua‘i’s next generation.

Plus, congratulations to KCC Professor Brian Yamamoto, who received statewide recognition with the Frances Davis Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching.

⭐ Samantha Tominaga, who served as Vice President of her school’s Health Occupations Students of America chapter and volunteers at multiple organizations
