Spanish Cove

Spanish Cove Spanish Cove is one of the best kept secrets in Southern Alabama. Explore our website and find out what we already know; Spanish Cove is a great place to live.

Nestled in a forest of hardwoods and pines on the western shore of beautiful Perdido Bay, our community provides a wide variety of living styles with something for everyone. Just minutes away from Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, and Foley in Alabama as well as just across the bridge from Pensacola, Florida, Spanish Cove provides access to a wealth of fishing and boating, golfing, dining, beaches, cultu

ral and other amenities, to name only a few and all at a quiet, easy going pace of life. The site is designed to provide information and service to residents of the Cove as well as those who may or may not have ever been to the gorgeous gulf coast region of South Baldwin County, Alabama. Come on down (literally or figuratively) and find out why so many of us have made this our last permanent home. Welcome, one and all.

Cove Neighbors!

We need your help! We want to feature YOUR photos on the cover of the July Update!

This month’s theme is “Summer in the Cove”

Send us your photos, from this year or years past that show what Summer looks like here in our Piece of Paradise. A few rules:

NO to AI or AI enhanced photos! We want snapshots of the things you see and do in the summertime - fun with friends and family, your gardens, sunrises, sunsets.

YES to photos of past July 4th celebrations, parades, fireworks! Patriotic, not political please! It’s the 250th birthday of our nation! That’s something to celebrate!

PLEASE if your pictures include children - understand that you are giving us permission to print them in the paper Update and also to post them on our website. Grandparents, we LOVE to see your little ones, but make certain it’s okay with Mom and Dad before you send.

TIME IS SHORT! Please email your photos to us no later than Thursday, June 18 at [email protected] for possible inclusion in the July Update.

We plan to do this monthly, so if you don’t have time to get them in this issue, stay tuned for the August theme.

Cove Neighbors,

After nearly 70 responses, the Communications Committee is asking for your vote to choose the name for the new walking trail between Land Harbor and Perdido Pines.

While we loved every choice y'all submitted - and there were some VERY clever ones - we did have to whittle down the choices to ten.

Please click the link and vote for your favorite. One vote per person. We will accept responses through 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 14. The new name will be announced at the June 18 Board of Directors meeting.

When Denise Porter and Susie Groves announced their retirements, everyone’s first thought was “WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE WE GOING TO DO?!?” A search was launched, and candidates were vetted and interviewed, and now we are delighted to announce that the Board has selected Elaine Harris to be our new Activities Director.

She began work this morning, so she will be busily soaking in as much of Denise’s wealth of Spanish Cove knowledge as she can before Denise heads off into her and Rich’s happy retirement on May 31st.

She has lots of experience planning activities and trips as an Activities Coordinator for her previous neighborhood in South Carolina. And as a retired elementary school teacher, you know she can easily organize people and events and make sure everyone is having a great time.

You’ll see her around the CCH as you go to your classes and activities, so be sure to give her a warm welcome - and a little bit of grace - as she settles into this new position.

Welcome Elaine! We are so happy you’re here!
