BOARD OF DIRECTORS candidate number 4 is KENDALL SCHRADER!
Hi all! I am Kendall Schrader with Schrader Realty. I have been a licensed Realtor for 4 years now, but I always joke with my clients that I might as well have been an agent for 23 years with as much experience as I have. My Great Grandpa, Ed Schwieterman, was a Realtor and my mom, Krista Schrader, is an owner and broker currently. I grew up going to showings with my mom, sitting at the office while she worked, and listening to her countless phone calls throughout the years. I originally got my license at the age of 18 before I left for college as a backup plan, but when I graduated college, I felt myself wanting to jump into that backup plan. I have never been happier with my decision. I know this industry like the back of my hand, I have grown to love it, and I continue to adapt as our times are changing.
Within the past 12 months, I have sold over $8 million in volume, ranging from my hometown all the way to Columbus. I am also a member of multiple real estate associations and MLS’s. I have experience helping every type of client, but find my heartstrings pulled especially when it comes to buyers.
Being a young realtor, I am often discouraged to get involved, and when the applications for this position came out, I sat down and realized that that is a problem. My age should not be a limitation, it is an opportunity to bring a perspective that represents the next generation of real estate professionals. I want to encourage my fellow young agents to be involved and make change.
Outside of being a Realtor (when I find the time), I help my dad run his business, The Peak, in Delphos. This has helped me gain the skills necessary to be a leader or run for a position such as this. In the Schrader Realty office, I assist in organizing files, social media, team meetings, trainings, and much more. These experiences have taught me how to communicate with different personalities, manage responsibilities, solve problems, and work on a team. Skills that are important when serving on a board.
There are many reasons why I want to serve on the board. I want to make a change. I want to collaborate with my fellow realtors during these changing times and work together to fix what is currently broken. I want our MLS to be seen as a tool and our Board to be seen as a resource to turn to when members have questions, concerns, or ideas. I want to advocate for those Realtors who do not have a voice in this industry.
In conclusion, I love my job, and I love this industry. I want to take it a step further by being a leader and being on the Board. Anyone who has worked with me knows I am passionate about my clients and this job. I am not afraid to speak up, ask questions, or have difficult conversations when I believe it is necessary. I would appreciate your vote and your trust in me to make improvements to the West Central Association of Realtors!
