Not all HOAs are created equal, however. Always ask for covenants when considering an offer on a home in an HOA. Consult an attorney if you're not sure of the requirements/regulations!

There are a lot of rewarding parts of this job. One of the biggest ones for me is when a client says "Thank you for taking the time to explain it so it makes sense."

Sometimes we have to move quickly to make sure deadlines are met, offers are strongest, or whatever it may be, but I never want to move so quickly that the client doesn't fully understand what is happening or have a chance to ask questions about the process.

I always try to remember every home purchase and sale is very likely one of the largest -- if not THE largest -- financial "decision" the client has ever had to make.

Years ago I had my very first closing as a real estate agent. A friend was buying her very first home. Yesterday we closed on her second home with her now-husband and growing family.

One of the great things about this industry is being able to be a part of the milestones in the lives of friends and family. And there is nothing more complimentary than being asked to help someone buy or sell a home MULTIPLE times.
