We are Families, Farmers, Neighbors & Friends in Northeast Lancaster County, Nebraska FIGHTING to "STOP" an Out-of-State Company (New York) from taking over 1,000's of acres of Farm Ground & Acreages to install the LARGEST Solar Panel Farm in NEBRASKA! This proposal would change Northeast Lancaster County for Decades as they are trying to setup Leases (40-50 year leases) and potentially Buying 1,000's of Acres of Farmland & Acreages in Prime Location of Growing Lincoln, Waverly, Eagle, Prairie Homes & More in NE! They are only wanting to take over this land and install the solar panel farm in this area due to an easy access to insert power into the grid (located at N. 134th & Adams Street) and not because it's the best location for the Cities surrounding the area. We are asking for YOUR SUPPORT (Lincoln, Walton, Waverly, Prairie Homes, Eagle, ect.) to help stop this before it's too late! We need you to contact the Lincoln City Council members, Lincoln/Lancaster County Planning Commission & Lancaster County Board of Commissioners & Your Local Government Officials!!! This is going to Affect our Local Farmers as they will lose their land to farm on & livelihoods of working hard to produce Corn, Soy Beans, Livestock, and more. These products help us with our Gasoline in the State of Nebraska & Producing Food for us & the Live Stock (ex. This company says it's only trying to use 1,500 ACRES due to the max 230 Megawatts of power, but you have to know that they are talking about JUST Solar Panels only which is not including all of the Land they are sitting on (ex. 100 acre property may fit 60-80% of solar panels= 60 acres of Solar Panels). They would have to install tall fences around the Solar Panel Areas where it would affect the Wildlife (ex. Deer, Turkeys, Pheasants, Rabbits, etc.). Even if you do not live around the 1,000's of acres potentially taken, it will affect you as either your electricity bills will see an increase due to the this Company paying high premiums to lease & buy the land which will ultimately be passed on to you the consumer! Plus this Solar Company will have to please their Stakeholders interests (don't know who they are or where they live: Inside the States?). This would also stop any future development in Northeast Lancaster County for Affordable Housing Developments and New Businesses of the land down the road due to the leases for 40+ years, which when the East Beltway gets built this area of town could be prime real estate development. Would you want an Out-of-State Company potentially owning 1,000's of acres that would affect you for decades to come???
