First weekend. 2 open houses. No one showed up. Second weekend. Another open house. Dead. Then, 5 days later, 3 private showings occurred within a few hours of each other and ALL THREE sets of clients drew up offers to buy my client’s townhome that same Friday evening.

Real estate can be unpredictable at times, to where you feel there’s a glitch in the matrix. But if you follow the white rabbit, sometimes you get exactly where you needed to be. 🐇

Congratulations Ruth on selling your home!! I know this was the nexus point for many fond memories, but you are ready for your next stage of life. I’m so glad we were able to find new owners. We sold our home.

From Bethany: This first photo was taken just a few weeks before the world shut down in March of 2020, right after these two kids bought their first home. For those of you with the beautiful misfortune of knowing us well, we don’t always choose the conventional path. We bought a triplex with an unlivable upstairs unit (to become our beloved Unit 3 home). Our first few months of home ownership centered around us living in the downstairs kitchen, while we demoed the entire upstairs, taking down lath and plaster, adding in a pantry, removing doors and adding doors. At one point I found myself sitting on the floor of Home Depot with carpet squares, samples of vinyl, and a hundred paint swatches around me – having great fun choosing what I wanted my new home to look like. For 6 years, we loved living upstairs in 1,000 sq. ft. surrounded by décor only we could love – skulls, vibrant abstract art, mismatched furniture, trinkets from around the world, rock climbing hand-holds hanging from the ceiling, and wayyy too many house plants and magnets.

Our little home was perfect for us; a place where two semi-newlyweds really fell in love. I will always cherish 6801 Lexington Ave, Unit 3, Lincoln, NE. A home is not simply the materials it’s made with, but of the laughter and tears within. Our beloved cats were born here, Frederick Milo Thomas and Charles Bartholomew Thomas. Andrew and I binged so many series and stayed up way too late watching movies. I probably planted over 1,000 plants, from perennials around the house to herbs and veggies in the garden. I remember us sitting on the couch, looking at our sweet little Gabriel on that first day home from the hospital going “Well what now?” Boy did we have fun playing in the soil and watching our son’s personality come to life. This summer, after lots of prayer, both Andrew and I independently felt like God was telling us it was time to sell our triplex. So we did. Thank you 6801 for everything you did for our little family. As I write this in our new house across town and am grateful for our newest adventure, the triplex will always have a space in our hearts.

It was a lovely surprise earlier this month to have received such a nice Google review from Vanessa. Last year, I helped her and her husband Luis find this beautiful stucco home. Ben & Emma, I loved every second helping you find the home of your dreams. Buying your first home can seem incredibly daunting, but I know you both are ready for the challenge. You are both incredibly nice people and I loved hearing about all your homemaking and landscaping plans. It brought me back to when Bethany and bought our first home. We had so much fun together painting walls, rearranging the furniture, planting trees (and then learning the hard way how important it was to keep them watered new in the ground), and dreaming of what the future may hold. I know you will cherish this time of your life and take every unexpected obstacle head on. Nothing but Congratulations from the both of us! Sometimes you tour a home and go "Whoah! Did not expect that." The house can seem totally normal then BAM blinding neon green. I recently read that some psychologists link your favorite color to specific personality traits. If you love green the most, you value peace and stability. Now I may be wrong, but this does not seem peaceful to me lolol. But! I know the previous owners loved it and that's truly what matters the most.

Congratulations Scott and Ashtyn on another successful purchase. I know this closed a bit ago, but I still wanted to celebrate your win and show off this cool looking home.
