If you bought a home in Lancaster County 10 years ago, you might be pretty surprised by what it could be worth today. 👀

According to the FHFA House Price Index, home values changed significantly from 2015–2025:

🇺🇸 Nationwide: +95.0%
🌽 Nebraska: +93.2%
📍 Lancaster County: +89.9%

In Lancaster County, that means a median home value of $161,100 in 2015 grew to $305,844 in 2025. 🤯

Of course, appreciation looks different for every home and neighborhood, but it’s a pretty incredible reminder that homeownership isn’t just about where you live. Over time, the equity you build can become a significant part of building wealth.

🎷Jazz in June — A Lincoln tradition since 1991, Jazz in June brings people together through free, world-class outdoor jazz performances. Its mission is to make high-quality music, arts education and cultural experiences accessible without financial barriers. Before careers, real estate, or Giving Realty, there were two 11-year-old best friends looking for somewhere to help. ❤️

Back in 1992, young Miriah and Josie spent their summer volunteering at The Gathering Place in Lincoln. 🥰

According to this little gem we dug out of their old newsletter 😂, they worked from 10:00–3:30 almost every day — sorting food, helping with the newsletter, prepping for yard sales, scraping wallpaper and doing whatever else needed to be done.

Thirty-four years later, they’re still best friends, still working side by side, and still finding ways to give back. Today, Miriah and Josie are the owners of Giving Realty, where that same heart for serving others has become part of the foundation of what we do.

And The Gathering Place is still an organization close to our hearts. Miriah and Josie have returned to serve meals and volunteer over the years, and yesterday we got to celebrate an exciting new chapter with them:

✨ The Groundbreaking for The Gathering Place’s Bigger Table Project ✨

The project will expand their ability to provide free meals, connection and dignity to people in our community, continuing a mission that has been serving Lincoln for decades.

It’s pretty special to look back at where it started and see how that thread has continued all these years later. ❤️
