It was an honor to meet with the Perry & Lewis County mayors to declare April as Fair housing Month:
County Mayor John Carroll of Perry County, Tn and County Mayor Jonah Keltner of Lewis County, Tn has proclaimed April "Fair Housing Month" in recognition of the 56th Anniversary of Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968, known as the Civil Rights Fair Housing Act.

The Act provides equal housing opportunity for all Americans regardless of race, color, religion, s*x, or national origin, as well as ensures fair practice in the sale, rental, or financing of property. The Fair Housing Amendments Act of 1988 added new rights, remedies, penalties, and enforcement procedures.

Locally, this proclamation was coordinated by the Southern Middle Tennessee Association of Realtors. Realtor Jarrod Richardson, Elizabeth Hinson and Lathan Powers who is pictured with Mayor Keltner, represented SMTAR
