DON'T GIVE YOUR HOUSE AWAY!
Most people have seen the commercials from companies offering to buy their home for cash, with a fast closing and no fees.
While these offers may be convenient for some in certain situations, the seller almost always ends up leaving money on the table, sometimes a LOT of money!
In most cases, it's possible to sell a home as-is with a quick closing by hiring a knowledgeable Realtor who knows what the home should sell for given it's current condition. Also, in most cases, the seller will net more money from the sale by working with a professional (even after paying their fee)
Most Realtors are willing to look at a home and give advice to a prospective seller without any cost or obligation.
Exploring all of your options before committing to anything always makes sense and could make a big difference when it comes to your bottom line.

Just in case you don't follow the Venetian Village hall page, I thought I'd share their post here. Tomorrow they will be having food trucks at the village hall. They do this every couple weeks and it's a good chance to have dinner and meet some of your neighbors.

Throwback Thursday.
This is the oldest MLS listing I've ever seen (1967) This home is in the village and was listed by N.H. Engle & Sons. The price was $13,500 and the taxes were $320 per year!

Some housing history: Many people aren't aware that if you go back far enough in history, there was a time that you could buy a house from Sears. These were kit homes and came
with everything required to build a complete house! There were a few other companies that sold kit homes but Sears was probably the largest. These homes were offered from the early 1900s to around 1942 and were very solid homes compared to a lot of other homes built at that time. Many of the older homes here in the Village were built by Engle builders and I can usually pick them out pretty easily. I'm not aware of any Sears homes in the neighborhood but it's possible that there are some. Some ways to tell: if a home has the original fixtures - toilets, sinks or tubs, the ones from a sears kit would feature the initials SR on them. Another way to tell is if the framing is numbered - with homes from a kit, they would number everything so the builder knew where everything went. Additionally, sometimes documents would be attached somewhere - under the staircase or other places.
