I recently toured this home in Woodsboro, MD, and it got me thinking about how many first time buyers assume they simply aren’t ready to buy yet.

Maybe you haven’t saved a huge down payment.

Maybe you’re worried about closing costs.

Or maybe you’ve looked at home prices and thought, “There’s no way I can afford to buy right now.”

But before you count yourself out, it’s worth finding out what your options actually look like.

Maryland has mortgage programs that may help eligible buyers with down payment and closing costs, which can make the upfront cost of buying a home more manageable.
