HOW TO RESTART SPECTRUM INTERNET
B:\COMPUTER FILES\RESET IP\FIX INTERNET.docx

For those experiencing UNRELIABLE INTERNET CONNECTIONS go to START - ALL PROGRAMS - ACCESSORIES - COMMAND PROMPT
A black window with white type will appear enter the following EXACTLY
"ipconfig /renew"

If internet crashes frequently do not close the COMMAND PROMPT window - you'll need it again!!!

The advantage of using the COMMAND PROMPT is that when Spectrum crashes next time (every 2 hours by my reckoning) - all you have to do it to your way back to the COMMAND PROMPT and hit the key - this will recall the "ipconfig /renew" command and you just need to hit the key.

Best Gregg

Please - check out my technical books for designers...

BTW this will fix the IP and DNS issues that frequently cause Spectrum internet to crash - it probably will not fix a system that has NEVER worked.

Why does Spectrum crash??? It may have something to do with the service techs resetting IP and DNS on servers indiscriminately and throwing everyone off the system.

We seek them here - we seek them there - those damned illusive fish ain't there?

A few of months back four large carp we introduced to the pond at our entry gate (behind the Ships Store).

I kept an eye on them every time I walked our two dogs; all was well (they showed no signs of distress) then suddenly they vanished. I guess they had eaten all the food and didn't like the taste of the filamentous algae they were supposed to eat.

I next saw them swimming in and out of the land drain (entry pipe) on the north side of the 'lagoon' behind #25 - that was the last I saw of them. There is very little of anything in the lagoon, so I guess they ran out of food.

I do not know if they escaped through our land drainage system into the large ditch west of Lightkeepers Drive (and then to some lake somewhere???) or if they escaped into the Marina.

Please report any sighting.

5 minutes on Google reveals that:- the only way to get grass carp to eat Lyngbya and other fibrous algae is to give them no other options - this also means preventing them leaving the pond! A bit like keeping children at the meal table until they've eaten all their 'greens'.

I guess the fish didn't get the memo that said they were supposed to stay where they were put and not to seek out preferable food sources. They just voted with their feet - sorry "fins".

So - HOA Board - please let's not try that again - fish will only eat that horrible slimy algae if they are starving - restocking the pond will be money down the drain. -gk

P.S. PLEASE - let's not try introducing none native species of Carp or Snails - we don't need to to cause an infestation of the ICW.
