🚨 PUBLIC ALERT: Everyone Should Count 🚨

The U.S. Census Bureau is proposing rule changes for the 2030 Census that could leave millions of people uncounted — and states underfunded for the programs our communities rely on. These proposals conflict with the Constitution, which requires counting the whole number of persons in each state, regardless of citizenship or residency status.

I'm speaking out as a nonpartisan resident who believes in accurate data, fair representation, and federal rules that respect both the Constitution and the rights of every state. Federal agencies should strengthen constitutional protections, not create rules that work around them or reduce who gets counted.

If you care about funding for schools, healthcare, roads, water systems, and community programs, your voice matters right now. The Census Bureau is taking public comments, and we need as many people as possible to speak up before the deadline.

We need your help to tell the United States Census Bureau: Don’t make damaging changes to the 2030 Census! The United States Census Bureau is currently taking public comments on proposed rules that would create massive and harmful changes to the 2030 Census. The proposed changes include but are n.

"$25 an hour sounds pretty good… until you try living on $25 an hour.

If you work 40 hours a week, that’s $52,000 a year, or about $4,333 a month BEFORE taxes.

Depending on where you live, your benefits and tax situation, you might actually bring home somewhere around $3,400–$3,700 a month.

Now let’s spend it.

🏠 Rent: $1,500
🚗 Car payment: $500
🚘 Car insurance: $175
⛽ Gas: $200
🛒 Groceries: $500
💡 Utilities: $250
📱 Phone: $75
🌐 Internet: $70
🏥 Health insurance/medical: $250
🧻 Toiletries & household stuff: $150

That’s $3,670 a month.

And I didn’t exactly go crazy with those numbers.

There’s no $900 car payment. No luxury apartment. No Whole Foods grocery budget. No $200 cable package. No steak dinners every Friday night.

It’s just… life.

And look at everything that ISN’T included in that $3,670.

No student loans or credit card payments. No childcare. No retirement contributions. No emergency fund. No new clothes. No gym membership. No streaming services. No vacations. No restaurants. No Christmas presents. No birthday gifts. No vet bills. No oil changes, new tires or car repairs.

Hell, I didn’t even give this person a haircut.

One $800 car repair can put the entire month on a credit card.

Add a kid and the math gets even uglier. Add daycare and $25 an hour can start feeling almost impossible on one income.

That’s what gets lost when we talk about wages.

Someone hears “$25 an hour” and thinks that person is doing pretty well.

Someone actually MAKING $25 an hour is looking at their checking account wondering where the hell all their money went.

$52,000 a year isn’t nothing.

But in 2026, it sure as hell doesn’t buy what most people think it does.
