Because apparently, my brain does not understand the difference between off the clock and just checking one little thing. 😩😂

🧘🏾‍♀️ Meditation: Scrolling the MLS in complete silence.

🚶🏾‍♀️🏘️ Cardio: Walking through a neighborhood “just to look.” 👀

📺🍿 Entertainment: Watching HGTV while questioning every renovation decision AND the budget. 😂

🛒🖊️📓 Retail Therapy: Office supplies. Because clearly I needed another notebook.

🚙💨🏡 Sunday Drive: “Wait…when did they build THIS subdivision?!” 👀

🌙🛏️📱 Bedtime Routine: One last email.
🕙 10:47 PM: Still emailing. 😭🤣

And don’t let me casually drive past a FOR SALE sign. 🪧👀
Now I need to know the price, square footage, DOM, photos, taxes, AND what they did to that kitchen. 😂😂😂

Basically…

REALTORS® don’t actually wind down.
We just work in more comfortable clothes. 🤣🏡💻🩴

🎾🏡 REAL ESTATE & TENNIS… two different courts, but the mindset? VERY much the same. 👩🏾‍💼🔥

I love real estate for many of the same reasons I love tennis. Neither one is about simply showing up and hoping for the best. You have to study, strategize, anticipate, adjust, and EXECUTE. 🎯

🎾 In tennis, every opponent plays differently.
🏡 In real estate, every transaction is different.

🎾 You have to read the court.
🏡 You have to read the market.

🎾 Sometimes you attack. Sometimes you defend.
🏡 Sometimes you negotiate aggressively. Sometimes patience is the better play.

🎾 One bad point doesn't determine the match.
🏡 One inspection issue, appraisal hiccup, title problem, or financing delay doesn't automatically determine the transaction.

🎾 You adjust your strategy in real time.
🏡 Because Plan A doesn't always make it to the closing table. 😂

And perhaps my FAVORITE similarity...

You don't win tennis by watching the ball. You win by anticipating where it's going. 👀🎾

That's exactly how I approach real estate. I don't just focus on what's happening right now. I'm constantly thinking about what could happen next and how to position my clients for it. 🧠♟️🏡

Both require discipline.
Both require resilience.
Both require patience.
Both require knowing when to take the shot. 🎯

And whether I'm watching center court or working a contract, apparently I just really enjoy strategy with a little pressure attached. 😂🔥

🇺🇸 HAPPY LABOR DAY! 🇺🇸

Labor Day hits a little differently when you think about the labor behind the life you’ve built. 👩🏾‍💻🏡✨

Most people know me as Alishia Freeman, Executive Broker | REALTOR® with Dawn Realty & Associates. What some may not know is that real estate isn't my only career.

I’m also a Business Analyst II, and on October 17th, I’ll celebrate 10 YEARS with my W-2 employer! 🎉💻🏾🥂

Two titles. Two industries. A surprising amount of overlap.

🏡 As a Real Estate Broker, I analyze properties and transactions, negotiate contracts, identify potential problems, coordinate multiple parties, interpret information, manage timelines, find solutions and help clients make major financial decisions.

💻🏾 As a Business Analyst II, I analyze processes and data, identify gaps and inefficiencies, troubleshoot problems, translate business needs into workable solutions, collaborate across teams and help improve how systems and processes operate.

And THAT is where the two worlds meet. 🔗

Both require me to analyze before I act.
Both require problem-solving and attention to detail.
Both involve people, processes, deadlines and a whole lot of moving pieces. 😮‍💨😂
Both require me to recognize when something doesn't make sense and figure out WHY. 🔎
And both have taught me that sometimes the biggest part of the job is preventing a problem before it becomes one.

Real estate will stress you, test you, have you negotiating before breakfast, solving problems by lunch, and celebrating a CLEAR TO CLOSE by dinner. 😮‍💨😂
