Valerie Pruitt has over 15 years experience working in the media. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in radio and television from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She began her broadcasting career as a news reporter and public affairs director for several radio stations in Little Rock. She went into television as station manager of Comcast Cable Channel 14 and also hosted a tv program, “In-Depth.” She has also worked as a political campaign consultant for several candidates running for local and statewide
offices. Her political experience took her to city hall serving the citizens of Little Rock as assistant to former Little Rock Mayor Jim Dailey. Valerie also has experience in the nonprofit arena holding positions as Executive Director and Program Director for a number of non-profit organizations. Her love for volunteerism led her to serve on various boards, committees, and commissions. She was appointed to the City of Little Rock
Planning Commission, served as Board Member/President Youth Home, Inc., Board Member, Our House and Our House Community Investment Corporation, Vine & Village, Dunbar Historic Neighborhood Association, The Friends of Johnson’s
Montessori School and In Affordable Housing. She served on the committees of Ronald McDonald Charities of Arkansas Chocolate Fantasy Ball, American Heart Association, “Go Red for Women,” and Arkansas Baptist College, “Super & Soul.” Valerie is the
mother of 3 adult children and has seven grandchildren. She is a member of St. Mark Baptist Church in Little Rock where she and her family have been members for over 50 years.
