Disconnect your hoses tonight in preparation for the cold weather overnight. Otherwise this could happen and cost tens of thousands of dollars in damage.

This type of hose spigot, will drain all water out of the spigot with a hose disconnected.

If you have the older style without the vacuum breaker on the top, then you want to be looking for your shutoffs inside. Shut them off and then go open the spigot outside and leave them open all winter. This particular valve in the 2nd picture also has a drain on the bottom of the shutoff. Open that until water stops dripping and then close it again.

In the spring revers the process.
