Multigenerational Home purchases are a growing trend due  to expensive real estate, it’s not uncommon for friends to purchase a home together or adult children with their parents. Matter of fact, it makes more sense to own real estate than to rent it. Because in the long run, the cost of housing continues to go up.

An appraisal is done within weeks of your home going under contract. The buyers lender orders the appraisal. The appraisal belongs to the buyer & not often shared with the sellers unless the value is less than contract price.

From a listing brokers perspective, it’s wise for the Listing Broker to make time to meet the Appraiser in person to provide the appraiser comparable sales & information regarding upgrades to the property to ensure contract price is met.
