#5 Curb Appeal!

Make the outside look as nice as possible- it i's what people will first see on the MLS and when driving by in person!

It may be too early (and chilly) to plant flowers, but here are some ways to increase curb appeal without flowers. 👇

✨️Put down fresh mulch or stones in garden beds
✨️Pick up fallen sticks and leaves in your yard
✨️Make sure all light bulbs are working
✨️Put a new house number sign up
✨️Put up a greenery wreath on the front door with a fresh, clean doormat
✨️Check for chipping paint and touch up spots that need it on decks, railings and shutters
✨️Pressure wash any spots that need it as well as sidewalks and driveways

#4 Fresh paint.

Neutral colors will showcase the house best. My personal favorite wall color is Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter and Sherwin Williams City Loft.

Even if you stick with the same color you already have, a fresh coat of paint always freshens up the room!

Also, check your baseboards and trim. Do they need to be washed down or touched up? Bistro White is my favorite go to color white for trim.

#3 Open the curtains and blinds and let the natural light in! ☀️

Buyers want to see the rooms in the best light, and a dark room is not inviting. For showings, turn on all the lights and lamps to showcase the house best and use daylight bulbs to avoid yellow lighting.

⭐️STAGING TIP⭐️

Move your curtain rods up to be 2" below the ceiling or crown molding and make sure the curtain rods extend at least 12" past the edge of the window on either side.

This will allow for as much natural light as possible to enter the room and make the room look taller.

#2 DEEP CLEAN

This one is pretty simple to do. Start in one room and move to the next room or tackle one task throughout the whole house.

Make everything sparkle!
✨️Wipe down windows + mirrors (Pro Tip: Get the dust and dirt out of the window tracks easily with a sponge. Place it on the track and mark where each line is and cut the sponge to match each of the grooves)
✨️Dust + Polish shelves and all horizontal surfaces
✨️Vacuum + carpet clean carpets
✨️Mop and glow floors
✨️Wipe out all appliances inside and out
✨️Wipe out kitchen cabinets and drawers
✨️Deep clean the bathrooms and replace shower liner with a fresh one if you have water stains.
✨️Check high and low for dust bunnies or cobwebs, especially in basements in garages.
✨️Sweep out garage

Once you do this, keep up with anything little daily to be ready for showings easily.

Before showings, do a quick sweep/vacuum/mop and check around the house to check for anything that may need a quick shine.

Simple steps to get your home ready to list!

#1 D E C L U T T E R, declutter, D E C L U T T E R.

Buyers want to be able to envision the space and how it would work for them and their things.

Start by getting rid of things you don't use. We all have at least a trashbag full of things that can be thrown away and a carload of other stuff that can be donated!
Pack away everything else that you won't need before your move (holiday decor, off season items, blankets, books, toys, pictures, etc.)
Clear off counters, dressers, desks and tables. You can stage with decor but keep it minimal.
Get a storage unit to put everything in for a couple months so that it is not taking up space in the basement or closets if you can.
