We are happy to have you check out our page and invite you to review exactly what we have for you at Cabins in a Clearing. We have three primitive cabins where you can have that primitive camping experience with some nice amenities offering less hassle and more comfort not merely to your stay but also for your preparation for relaxing closer to nature experience.
_ The cabins are lit with LED lanterns that provide an abundance of light when desired and are dimmable when that seems more appropriate.
_ The cabins are heated with small propane blue flame heaters that are adjustable to provide the amount of need you want from a pilot light to three panels of blue flames.
_Each cabins has its own shower stall where you can use bags of water (provided) that can be heated by direct sunlight and produce 105 degree water on a 65 degree ambient temperature day. The water is provided at a central location for filling the bags and adjacent to area where they may be left to heat when full sunlight is available. At that same location is a waterproof charging station for your electronics that use USB chords. It doesn’t lock but can bee seen from each cabin.
_ An enamel wash basin and an enamel pitcher is provided in each of the cabins for those who simply want a simpler method of a quick wash.
_Each cabins has a concrete patio furnished with a picnic table, a fire pit with free firewood so long as the stack lasts (certainly all of 2022), and a charcoal grill (supply your own charcoal).
_ Walnut Cabin has a queen size bed while Beech Cabin and Chestnut Cabin have fully size beds. The beds have 2 nightstands beside them.
Each cabins has a porch, an inside table for eating and games, a chest/seat at the end of the bed for resting suitcases or duffle bags, a book case with games and some empty shelves for your items as well.
_ As you can see from the photos, each cabin has a porch with seating on the porch.
_ The cabins are located in or on the edge of a clearing where breezes funneled up the valley keep Summer temperatures about 10 degrees cooler than the adjacent open areas.
_We provide bed linens but not towels.
_ Each cabin has a designated portalet that is kept immaculately clean and fresh and has wall mounted hand sanetizer.
_ There is a standard parking space for each of the three cabins. Accommodations can be made for more parking if needed but will require a somewhat longer walk to the cabins and prior notice of the specific need.
_ We are located close to Wayne National Forest and about 13 miles from Old Man’s Cave.
_ We can provide you with information for restaurants, fast food services and food delivery if you prefer to forego cooking for yourself.
_We do not permit hunting or discharge of weapons on our premises (just not big enough to be safe here) but are located close to public hunting areas in case you wish to rent a cabin during hunting seasons.
Come see the Ohio Hocking Hills or Door Run trails and give camping in a cabin a try. We think you’ll find it very entertaining and incredibly comfortable.
