I debated on whether to make this post or not, but I have been convinced otherwise by some very important people in my life to do it. So here it goes!
Last weekend, at the RACI annual charity gala benefitting Josiah White’s out of Wabash County, I was chosen to be the recipient of the ‘2026 Realtor of the Year’ Award. This comes as the biggest surprise to me, because I never realized how much of an impact I had within our association. I had the honor of being presented the award by Memi Rennewanz, owner of MPR Realty. As soon as she called my name, I literally felt my gut sink and my heart beat through my chest. All eyes were on me at this point, and I can only imagine the ridiculous look of ‘awe’ I had on my face!
As I made my way to the stand, I literally could feel the attention of the room suffocating me! I thanked Memi, strolled up to the stand and looked deep into that microphone. I was at a complete loss for words. A nervous chuckle escaped my lips, and I could feel a trickle of sweat beading from my eyebrow. What do I say in a room full of arguably the most successful business owners in our area? Well, if you were there then you know exactly what I said! For those who weren’t, I attached a video taken by a dear friend of mine, Paige Corbalis – owner of Brick Built Real Estate… enjoy! It was the biggest surprise to see my cousins Joey & Isaac, my best friend Jose, and my own father in attendance to see me receive this award.
I am not one to boast of my own achievements. I would much rather cheer you on than take the cheering myself. But I find that the more that I fight myself, the more I feel like I am undeserving. We are talking about one of the most prestigious awards here, and I feel like I am unworthy! Talk about your biggest enemy being yourself…
Anyway, I wanted to formally thank each and every one who led the decision to me being the recipient of such a phenomenal award. I would like to thank my managing broker, Rachel, for all of her guidance, her wisdom, her support, and her belief in me. I would like to also thank all of the Modern Real Estate team who continue to support me and my leadership journey. Huge thanks to RACI and the staff who continue to support and guide me in my real estate career. And of course, my biggest supporter and love, Riley, along with our three beautiful children who support me in my biggest decisions.
I sincerely hope this post serves as inspiration to those who have a hard time believing in themselves. Let this be proof that your dedication and hard work do not go unnoticed. I am very thankful and very lucky to have the support that I do! From the bottom of my heart, thank you!
