I AM NOT SHOWING HOMES ANYMORE…

Without a buyer’s agency agreement in place!

Don’t be caught off guard if any realtor you talk to utters these words.

Starting yesterday, all realtors will be required to have their clients sign a buyer’s agency agreement prior to showing their clients homes. That’s right, we will not be allowed to unlock a single door without the agreement being signed.

A buyer’s agency agreement spells out what services we provide, the duration of our relationship, location and compensation. Our job is far more than unlocking doors, and it’s important for buyers to understand exactly what they can expect from their agent. This is to a buyers benefit, because all realtors have a skill set, and you will want to work with the realtor that will best serve your needs! Sellers have been exclusively hiring their realtor for years, knowing what services their agent will provide and it is time buyers do the same.

If we show a home without putting this agreement in place, this could result in fines up to THOUSANDS of dollars, and puts our license and reputation at risk!

Hiring a team that has done hundreds of transactions and has many years of experience is crucial in a time like this. Anyone you hire, be it a mechanic or a hairstylist cannot work for “free”, their time is valuable, as is ours.

The reason that I want to share this information to everyone I know, is because if you call Joe Schmoe realtor from a popular website, expect him to require you to sign an agreement before showing you a house. Don’t get upset when he asks you to do this. Consider working with a realtor you KNOW and TRUST prior to signing one of these agreements or looking at homes.

Working with a buyers broker can help you save thousands by utilizing their knowledge and expertise. We have connections in the community to help you with all things home, and relationships that facilitate smooth transactions.

Tenacity: the quality or fact of continuing to exist; persistence.
Story Time… It was an open mind and some tenacity that made the sale of this condo possible. La Grange is currently in a VERY low inventory market, meaning that a condo that fit my client’s needs only came up once every couple of months. We went to 7 condos over the past two years, and none of them were the right fit. Then, I came across this gem and presented it to my clients asking them to keep an open mind. The condo needed a little TLC, but it has so much potential! The garage is just steps from the front door, the storage space is incredible, the landscaping off the patio is stunning, there is a mini wet bar built into the dining room. This condo is going to truly live like a single family home would. I am so grateful that my clients are getting settled in their “forever home”. It was such a joy to help them through this process.
