Having endured a difficult childhood and many years in prison for drug-related and violent offenses, Trejo found a way out through participating in rehabilitation programs and becoming a boxing champion in prison.
His acting career began by chance when he was invited to be a drug counselor for a film, leading to many small roles and eventually major roles in films like "Desperado," "Heat," "From Dusk Till Dawn," and "Machete."
Besides his acting career, Trejo is also a successful entrepreneur with a chain of restaurants, Trejo’s Tacos and Trejo’s Coffee & Donuts in Los Angeles. He actively participates in charitable activities, particularly helping those struggling with drug addiction, using his life experiences to become a motivational speaker and advisor, positively impacting the community.

The Crow, also called the Apsáalooke, Absaroka, and Apsaroke, historically lived in the Yellowstone River Valley. Eventually settling in Montana, the tribe split into two divisions, called the Mountain Crow and the River Crow. Today, there are about 11,000 members, with 8,000 living on the Apsáalooke Nation Reservation.

Actor Graham Greene best known for his roles in “Dances with Wolves” and “The Green Mile”, has passed away at the age of 73 after a battle with a long illness. R.I.P. 🙏

Graham Greene is an Oneida Native American actor from Canada. He is known for his roles in notable films, such as The Green Mile, Thunderheart, Wind River and Dances with Wolves. He was even nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in Dances with Wolves. He was born in Ohsweken, a Six Nations (Iroquois) Reserve in Ontario, but later moved to Hamilton where he got a lot of experience with the entertainment industry. Graham started work as an audio technician and later graduated from the Toronto-based Centre for Indigenous Theatre's Native Theatre School program in 1974. He made his TV debut in an episode of The Great Detective in 1979, and his first movie role in Running Brave (1983). Graham played many Native Americans in movies, such as Ishi (The Last of His Tribe), Walter Crow Horse (Thunderheart), Arlen Bitterbuck (The Green Mile), Sitting Bull (Historica). He also narrated Tecumseh! and voiced the Native American elder Chief Rains Fall in the video game Red Dead Redemption 2. In 1997 he suffered from a major depressive episode (MDE) and was hospitalized, but was soon back on his feet after help from Bruce Willis and Samuel L. Jackson. Graham also won a Grammy in the category Best Spoken Word Album for Children.

Cheyenne Dog SoldiersOf all the typical Plains tribes, the Cheyenne were most distinguished for warlike qualities. Few in number, they overcame or held in check most of the peoples who opposed them, and when the westward movement of European civilization began, they made more trouble than all the rest combined. In short, they were preeminently warriors among peoples whose trade was war. As in other Plains tribes, the warriors of the Cheyenne were organized into societies or orders. These societies were fraternal, military, and semi-religious organizations with special privileges, duties, and dress, usually tracing their origin to some mythical culture hero or medicine man. Each society had its own songs and secret ritual and exacted certain observances and standards of its members.
Of these organizations, none played such a part in the history of the Plains as the “Dog Soldiers” of the Cheyenne.

In Cherokee culture, women held significant positions and enjoyed certain privileges and responsibilities.Women in Cherokee society were considered equals to men and could earn the title of War Women. They had the right to participate in councils and make decisions alongside men. This equality sometimes led outsiders to make derogatory remarks, such as the accusation of a "petticoat government" by the Irish trader Adair.
Clan kinship was matrilineal among the Cherokee, meaning that family lineage and inheritance were traced through the mother's side. Children grew up in their mother's house, and maternal uncles held the role of teaching boys essential skills related to hunting, fishing, and tribal duties.
Women owned houses and their furnishings, and marriages were often negotiated. In the event of a divorce, a woman would simply place her spouse's belongings outside the house. Cherokee women had diverse responsibilities, including caring for children, cooking, tanning skins, weaving baskets, and cultivating fields. Men contributed to some household chores but primarily focused on hunting.
Cherokee girls learned various skills by observing and participating in their community. They learned story, dancing, and acquired knowledge about their heritage. Women were integral to the Cherokee society, and their roles played a central part in the community's functioning and adaptation to changing circumstances

He began his acting career in the 1960s with small roles in films like The Way West (1967) and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969), as well as guest appearances on television shows such as Gunsmoke.

CHIEF BLACK HAIR and daughter, circa 1900. The Crow (Apsáalooke) Chief (1849-1905) posed with Mary Black Hair (1896-1953) in the Black Lodge District of the Crow Reservation in Eastern Montana. The Chief’s eagle feather fan and numerous ermine danglers indicated a person of standing. Mary’s dress was adorned with elk ivories (elk have two teeth made of ivory).
Photographer Fred E. Miller had married a Native woman and was adopted into the Crow tribe in 1905. His work gained recognition with the 1985 publication of “Fred E.
