16 years ago, 28 Aug 2007 is a day that is burned into my head for the rest of my life. A rocket flew over my truck and hit a building in an area I was just leaving, I apologize/not apologize, but the rest of this story is mine and those who were there.
That horiffic day took the life of a brother, a man I never met till that day by that conex, but bonded us for life. Later that night, i saluted SGT Collins on a flightline in Iraq. I wear this braclet to honor this hero.
6 years ago, after years of just trying just to locate a relative, I was honored after 10 years of looking to have met his parents who drove across Florida to see us at a softball tourniment. I've also had the pleasure to have met a couple fellow service members who helped that day and the wife of a soldier and the soldier who we also worked on.
Today in honor of him please take a min and pray for our men and woman in uniform and remember those who gave their lives so we can have ours.
