Who would have thought exactly 17 years ago when I asked you to dance that our lives would have turned out like this today. I know my dad brought you to me as you’re very similar to him and you’ve never met. Thank you God for the life that you have allowed us to built and that I truly love and enjoy! Happy HEAVENLY 97th Birthday to the man who taught me everything. On December 21, 1928 which was a Friday, in a little town call Manuabo, Puerto Rico you were born. I know you are celebrating your birthday with all who have passed listening/dancing to Salsa Music, playing Dominoes, smoking a cigar, and eating pastels or lechon. Drinking Coquito which this year we made two batches. Not a day goes by that I don’t think of you. I wanted to share today 13 (which is the Lopez lucky number) some of your saying which will always stick to me.
1-Don’t sweat the small stuff
2-Show me you love me, don’t tell me
3-Have I told you lately that I love you
4-Be careful who you hang around with as that says a lot about you.
5-Buy things only if you have the cash only!
6-Work hard/play hard
7-Do something right or don’t bother
8-Have 2 trades so you will be financially independent
9-Be a person of your word it’s the only thing you have that people can go by
10-If you lend money consider it a gift so don’t lend $ or money you dont have.
11-Always help anyone in need, you never know when you may need help.
12-Get your education NO one can take it from you.
13-You are luck if you can count on one hand really good friends.
I will celebrate your birthday all day by eating at our special spot at Northwoods Inn. Love and miss you viejo, but I know you are always with us.
