Greater Los Angeles Chapter SIOR

Founded in 1946, the Los Angeles Chapter is one of the largest and oldest SIOR groups in the United States.

The Los Angeles Chapter proudly has over 100 active members that work within the Greater Southern California market.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the SIOR Greater Los Angeles Chapter Spring Dinner at Porsche Experience Center Los Angeles in Carson. It was a great evening of connection, relationship-building, industry insights, and community impact.

A highlight of the evening was awarding scholarships to two of the four UCLA students in attendance, an important part of supporting the next generation in commercial real estate.

We’d also like to thank Prologis for sponsoring the event. Kim Snyder from also joined us as our guest speaker and shared insights on solar, sustainability, and evolving industry trends. We appreciate the time and perspective shared during the evening.

Thank you to our members and corporate sponsors for joining us at our annual SIOR Night Member Dinner at the Jonathan Club.

We were honored to hear from LAPD Officer Jeff Joyce, who, along with fellow LAPD officers, created Nicks Kids Soccer, an inspiring program that gives kids in Nickerson Gardens a safe place to play, learn, and grow. During the event, SIOR Los Angeles proudly made a donation to the Foundation for Learning, Athletics & Growth which funds Nicks Kids.

We were also inspired by our keynote speaker, Louis Dargenzio, who shared his incredible journey through the entertainment industry, from his early days as a Teamster driver to founding Zio Studio Services and later leading Sunset Studios. With experience on more than 100 film and television productions for major studios like Disney, Netflix, and Warner Bros., Louis delivered a powerful message about perseverance, leadership, and passion for what you do.

And a very special congratulations to Jack Whalen, our longtime treasurer and board member, honored with the Roy C. Seeley Award for his outstanding service and leadership within SIOR.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Beach Day 2025 event!

Whether you came to relax, enjoy some tacos and games, or simply spend time by the beach, we’re grateful you were part of it. Your presence made the event a great experience for all.

We also handed out some really cool custom hats featuring a surfboard-themed SIOR logo, and they were a big hit! The design turned out great, and it was awesome to see so many of you wearing them during the event.

A special highlight of the event was welcoming UCLA TE Michael Churich, this past year’s SIOR LA scholarship recipient. Michael received a $10,000 award to help further his education and pursue a career in real estate. Congratulations, Michael!

SIOR LA’s immediate past President, Jeff Puffer, SIOR, and UCLA’s Head Coach, DeShaun Foster, surprised UCLA TE Michael Churich with SIOR LA’s scholarship award in the amount of $10,000 to help offset educational expenses towards a career in real estate. SIOR LA wishes Churich luck with the rest of his season and also his CA DRE Exam, which he takes next month. Churich will also attend SIOR LA’s Holiday Party next week, where our members can congratulate our scholarship winner as well.
