After years in Southern California, here are a few things about Napa I wasn’t expecting…
1. Napa is SO much more than w**e 🍷
Obviously, the w**e is incredible—but what surprised me is how much there is beyond the w**eries. Great restaurants, hiking, local events, farmers markets, parks and a real sense of community.
2. Every neighborhood has its own personality 🏡
Browns Valley, Alta Heights, Downtown, North Napa, Silverado… they’re surprisingly different. Drive five or ten minutes and the homes, views, lot sizes and overall feel can completely change.
3. People actually know their neighbors 👋
Coming from Southern California, this was one of the biggest changes. Napa has a small-town feel where you start recognizing people at the grocery store, coffee shop or around town.
4. How quickly you can go from “town” to country 🌳
One minute you’re grabbing coffee Downtown and shortly afterward you’re surrounded by vineyards, rolling hills and open space. I’m still getting used to how beautiful an ordinary drive can be here.
5. The pace of life feels different ❤️
There’s something about Napa that encourages you to slow down a little. Dinner feels like an experience. Weekends feel like weekends. And there’s an appreciation for food, outdoors, family and community that I’ve really grown to love.

I’m realizing there is still SO much I haven’t discovered.
