Mollie J. Bennet Beck is a California native who was raised in the San Gabriel Valley community of Sierra Madre. She attended Alverno High School in Sierra Madre, Pasadena City College, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and Cal State Long Beach. Mollie obtained her Emergency Medical Technician certification from Glendale Community College and completed the Police Reserve Academy at Rio Hondo College so she

could volunteer as a Reserve Police Officer for the City of Sierra Madre. She came to Long Beach to continue her career in Workers' Compensation claims for the City Attorney's Office in the early 1980's and purchased her first home in Belmont Heights later that decade. Mollie subsequently held jobs in the insurance industry and chose to leave the corporate world to concentrate on Larry's thriving real estate practice in 1998, obtaining her real estate license in 2002. She also completed the Certified Apartment Manager (CAM) training though the California Southern Cities Apartment Association in 2000. Beck came to Long Beach in 1952 with his family from Toledo, Ohio. He was raised in the Long Beach Plaza neighborhood attending Cubberley Elementary School, DeMille Junior High, Millikan High (go Rams!) and Long Beach Community College. He purchased his first home in California Heights then moved to Belmont Shore in the late 1970's where he raised his two daughters, Marnie and Jessica. Both girls attended Lowell, Rogers and Wilson schools. Larry's first career was with the IBEW as a journeyman electrician and ultimately a supervisor on major commercial and industrial construction projects around the greater Los Angeles area. He worked on jobs for Boeing, McDonnell Douglas, Blue Cross, Renaissance Hotel in downtown Long Beach, Garrett Air Research, Texaco, American Broadcasting Company and NBC Studios to name a few. He stepped back from that industry in 1989 to launch his successful real estate career. Larry and Mollie live in Belmont Shore with their dog Bella, adopted locally from a rescue organization. They have two daughters, Marnie and Jessica and four grandchildren, Madison, Bo and Logan who live in Arizona and Anthony who lives in Long Beach. Larry and Mollie enjoy traveling, entertaining, surfing, cooking, reading, home projects, kayaking and exercising. Philanthropic activities include the Rotary Club of Long Beach, the local Chapter of the American Red Cross, Aquarium of the Pacific and the Bolsa Chica Wetlands. Mollie is a current Board Member of the Red Cross and served as Chairperson of the Board of Directors 2012-2014. She is a Past President of the Rotary Club of Long Beach 2019/2020.

🐾You can't change a dog's past, but you can rewrite the future.


Bella was found wandering the streets of Long Beach with at least one cousin. Live Love Animal Rescue scooped her up and offered her for adoption at the tender age of approximately 8 months. Mollie and Larry adopted her on July 16, 2019 to fill the huge void their beloved Stevi had left a year earlier. And boy did she! She's happy to play with other dogs and loves visitors. She climbs the waterfall in their backyard to peer over the wall and greet everyone walking down the street--preferably if you have a dog in tow. And she travels with her own suitcase and crate. The saying is true...they're the ones that rescue us ❤

Interesting real estate market!
If you are thinking about selling, NOW is the time for your education to begin. Curb appeal is important BUT...sophisticated sellers learn the market before they are ready to sell. These days, as is true throughout the city, homes for sale in the two districts are scarce and not inexpensive. As of March 9, there was just one home on the market in each district.
