Fuzzy walls in a dark closit. Left un checked, mold can destroy your home, sicken your family, even kill loved ones. Most molds have some toxin, some molds have deadly toxin, young and elderly people normally become ill first. Several molds are known carcinogens. Clean up by a certified professional is mandatory.

The removal of toxic mold has become an art. Special safety precautions must be obeyed. The products used are in my opinion as important as the entire procedure.

Many homes in the hurricane sandy zone were contaminated. Instead of trained toxicity professionals, some home owners allowed untrained volunteers clean there homes. The flood surge from sandy was a perfect biological storm, bacteria from brackish flood surge water was tainted with raw, untreated sewage, organic debris, and soaked into the lower floors. Bacteria is wonderful food for toxic mold.

The doorbell rings and the local volunteers arrive and soak your home with bleach. Temporarily killing mold, weeks later dioxin gas slowly eminates from the remains of the chlorine. One or all members of the family fall victim to " sick house syndrome" migraines ensue. The bacteria is still present in the walls, soil, studs and the mold grows back twice as bad. Volunteer work is noble. It can be reckless.
