In the current market where demand is great and supply is low this is a challenge, so start looking early! My name is Vicki Hutchinson, I was raised in South Denver and Arvada, and graduated from Western State College in Gunnison Colorado. I went to work at Lowry Air Force Base and then worked for Public Service Company (now Excel) as a Pipefitter, then I joined the U.S. After the Navy, I worked a
t the Naval Station Norfolk, Virginia (Department of Defense, DOD) as a Pipefitter and there I was promoted to management. I was presented with the opportunity to work overseas and I jumped at it. The opportunity to see other areas of the world and experience other cultures was not something I could pass up! Therefore, I transferred from DOD to the Department of State as a Facility Manager. As a result of that decision, I ended up working most of my adult life overseas as the person responsible to ensure utility services and building conditions met the needs of the occupants/residents/users. As you can imagine standards vary dramatically country to country and maintaining residences and offices was at times a challenge. I am so thankful that the United States has robust building and safety codes! With the advancement of the Internet, while working overseas, I was able to further my education and obtained degrees in human resources and business administration. My background enables me to look at a home and see its potential as your future home. Whether it meets your immediate needs or may need a project or two to meet your future needs. I love to see the joy on faces when clients find their perfect home. I believe we all need to give back to our community in whatever way we can. Although the pandemic has severely limited these activities, I have volunteered for Make A Wish foundation for many years and I have met with Wish Kids to learn what they want for their wish. I have done room make-overs, assisted with shopping sprees, the annual Frank’s Ride, and Walk for Wishes events. Every time I see the joy in the Wish Kids, it also brings me joy. I also volunteer with the VFW (now the American Legion) at their monthly breakfast and fundraising events. Taking care of our veterans and hearing the stories they have to tell is an education of itself and make veterans feel appreciated. I am an active practitioner of Chun Khun Do (a subset of Tae Kwon Do), hobbies also include swimming, woodworking and scuba diving.
