Looking for some relief on your Real Estate Taxes?

Have you heard of the Homestead Exclusion –

What is it and how do I apply for it?

The Homestead Exclusion is primarily funded by a portion of the state's gaming revenues, along with other designated state resources for property tax relief. This means that the amount of relief available can vary from year to year based on the success of these revenue sources and the distribution of funds across the state.

The Homestead Exclusion allows eligible Pennsylvania homeowners to lower the taxable value of their primary residences, thereby reducing their overall property tax bill. The Homestead Exclusion is a program that is particularly focused on providing relief from SCHOOL PROPERTY TAXES, which represent a significant portion of a homeowner’s annual property tax payment.

The program eligibility must be your primary residence. This means it should be the place where you live for most of the year and considered your permanent home.

How do you apply:
Applying is free and is as simple as submitting an application to your county’s assessment office. The application may vary from county to county. It’s important that you contact the local assessment office for specific information, instructions and deadlines.

Once approved, the Homestead Exclusion will REMAIN in effect for as long as you own the home and use it as your primary residence, however, when you call the local assessment office you’ll want to confirm with the assessment office.

By taking advantage of Homestead Exclusion, homeowners can reduce their property tax burden. If you meet the eligibility criteria, applying for this program is a smart financial move that can lead to substantial savings each year.

Now that we are in full swing as June closings are starting to come and go, I’d like to bring you up to speed on a few major changes in Key State Settlement’s house!!

First and foremost we can’t thank you, YES YOU, the realtors, the lenders, the buyers, the sellers, the attorneys, and other title companies for your amazing support, work ethic and your help over the last 4 years, soon entering year 5….can you even believe in October we’ll celebrate Key States 5th year?! Wowza!

Time flies when you’re having fun!

Many late nights, many early mornings, many weekends, and thousands of hours, ALL WORTH IT!!

Now on to the nitty gritty…if you haven’t heard, Key State Settlement grew by one employee!

I’ve watched this young lady turn into an amazing driven hard working strong woman over the past 20 years!

She brings several years of paralegal experience, notary experience, and yes, even real estate experience to Key State Settlement!

She came in hitting the ground running so there would be no interruption to any real estate transactions in motion!

Stephanie has worked with a local law firm for roughly the past 18 years, and has done an outstanding job during her tenure there!

Her work ethic, keen eye for detail and s***k adds the perfect dynamic to Key State Settlement, and when you meet her or talk to her you’ll instantly love her pazazz and enthusiasm she brings to the table!

She is quickly learning the ropes and handling with great care all of the cash transactions that cross through our doors.
