✨Meet Our Featured Broker of the Month: Kristy Ortega! ✨ A. Ortega REMAX First is a third-generation Los Alamos local, now raising a fourth. Her background in the private sector, government, and nonprofit leadership has given her a practical, hands-on understanding of the community and the people who make it special.
“The Los Alamos community is unlike anywhere else,” Ortega says. “I just hope to share what I’ve learned with anyone considering a move here. Whether someone is arriving for the first time, coming back after years away, or hoping to retire somewhere peaceful, I truly believe Los Alamos has something to offer.”
When she’s not helping clients find the perfect home, Kristy pours her energy into community service—often joking that she’s a proud “volunteer addict.”
Her service includes leading the United Way of Northern New Mexico as Executive Director, participating in the Kiwanis Club of Los Alamos, coaching volleyball, she is a 2005 graduate of Leadership Los Alamos, and has served on numerous boards and committees for nearly two decades. She’s also a member of the 🏆RE/MAX Hall of Fame and part of the 🏆 2025 Lifetime Achievement class.
Kristy believes honesty is always the best policy and works hard to keep her integrity at the center of everything she does. Transparency and clear communication matter to her, and she approaches her work with optimism balanced by realistic expectations.
Approachable and community-minded, Kristy Ortega is committed to supporting Los Alamos in meaningful, practical ways—through her work, her volunteer efforts, and her love for the place she has always called home. Having her on our team is an honor, and we’re eager to see what she does next!
