If you're the one helping a parent think through what to do with the family home, this one is for you.

I've been selling homes in Menlo Park for over 20 years and I still love showing up to this city. 📍 Downtown Santa Cruz Avenue is genuinely one of the best stretches on the Peninsula, good food, walkable, real neighborhood feel.

The schools are incredible, the streets are quiet and beautiful, and you're right next to Stanford without feeling like you're in the middle of a campus. It's the kind of place where people move in thinking it's a stepping stone and then just... never leave.

Inheriting the family home with your siblings might sound straightforward, until everyone has a different idea of what should happen next.

Unlike cash, a house can't simply be divided into equal pieces. If a parent leaves a home equally to three children, for example, each sibling may receive an ownership interest in the property, not a specific physical portion of the house.

This is what a Thursday morning in downtown Redwood City looks like. 🐾 A walk through the pedestrian plaza, coffee nearby, dogs and kids in tow, it's that kind of easy, unhurried vibe that makes this area so easy to love.

One of the things I always tell people about Woodside Plaza is that you're just minutes from all of this. A real, walkable downtown with great restaurants, the Fox Theatre, and local shops that actually make you want to get out and explore. It's a big part of why people love living here so much.
