I remember when I moved to coastal Southern California in the mid 1980s when I was in my early 20's, I thought it was such a fantastic place. A great place to be in my 20's. It was sun and fun! But I would NOT want to raise my kids there. I knew they would think that was "reality" because that would be all the world they knew growing up in it.

But every dog has his day and the pendulumn will always swing. Unfortunately, California is a leader of trends to the rest of the US. It will get worse before it gets better. Well, I hope it gets better. But I guess that is just the way life works. We learn things the hard way. It seems almost bone-headed. Hopefully the tide is finally turning.
