What was the first time you saw a house feature in real life, TV, or film and thought to yourself, “I have to have one of those??”

The Beast’s library in ‘Beauty and The Beast’ was a big one. I also loved Arnold’s room in ‘Hey, Arnold’ and I opened every wardrobe I came across hoping I’d find Narnia at the back of one. (Who am I kidding, I still do that 🤠)

I also dreamt of hidden doors that lead to secret lairs and of course, the classic Hogwarts dorm rooms with fires always going and plenty of great reading space.

Starting over in a new profession, at any point in life, is a major challenge. I have been incredibly fortunate to have a great team around me, both at home and at the office to help me take the necessary steps to succeed in this new business. Our industry is changing daily, and I’m so proud to be recognized for my work to change with it. If you’ve spent any amount of time in California, it is certain that you noticed these glowing orange flowers that grow everywhere from lush, rolling hills to the cracks in cement. Our state flower refuses to be ignored. Like Southern California’s booming film industry, poppies are unique and illustrious and demand your attention. People flock to the Antelope Valley Poppy Reserve every year hoping to catch a super-bloom, and a quick search for on IG will have you screen flooded with orange. Here are some fun facts about poppies;

-They became our state flower in 1903
-Early Spaniards called them “Dormidera” which means ‘to fall asleep’ because the flowers close when the sun goes down
-Stepping on poppies crushes the roots and causes them to die, and they won’t come back next year. Never leave the trail the get a shot, it’s not worth the damage to the plant and now that the world knows the repercussions, it probably won’t get a lot of likes either (or at least, you will get negative comments!) Work angles and get down low to make it seem like you’re in the field without any flower casualties.
-When we look at a poppy, we see bright orange because we cannot see ultraviolet light. Insects can, so they see a dark spot in the center of the flower that contrasts sharply with the UV-reflecting petal around it, guiding the insect to the pollen.

As a second generation immigrant, Mother’s Day is particularly important to me. My mom came to this country with nothing but her work ethic and her daughter. With that she built an incredible life for my sister and I, and I’ll always be grateful for her. If you’re proud of your mom, drop a comment with what she means to you!

One of my favorite things about living in Southern California is the sheer number of fun outdoor activities there are to try. Want to surf in the morning and then snowboard into the sunset? Totally possible in SoCal. What about a ocean view hike on Monday and then scaling a mountain on Friday? The Pacific Ocean and Angeles National forest have you covered! Trees bigger than any you’ve ever seen? The Sequoias are only a few hours away. Maybe you want a downtown view and a fun water activity? Look no further than Echo Park. A picnic and then a Dodgers game? Elysian Park is the place for you. I could go on and on, but the facts are there: Los Angeles is an outdoor wonderland. Thinking about making the move? Reports show that California lost population for the first time since 1900. Other people’s move could be your gain. “Getting the house I wanted would not of happened without Donald as my agent. Period. Donald wanted it just as bad as I did and fought every step of the way for it. This process was one of the craziest I’ve ever encountered and he made it his mission to go to war with me. We got into the house I was set on because of how thourough he was. The only thing left to do was climb a mountain (that I now own) and shotgun beers together. We also succeeded at that together. Love ya buddy.
