Case Study House 23, The Triad. This is my favorite mid-century in San Diego. Sometimes, I drive down this street just to glimpse at how beautiful it is. Designed by Killingsworth, Brady & Smith in 1960. They had designed three homes on one lot, hence the name. It was supposed to be a model for tract housing that name came to fruition.

The entryway to this home is spectacular. With a concrete path over shallow reflecting pools leading you to the 10ft front doors.

The Frank Lloyd Wright Turkel House in Detroit, Michigan, is absolutely breathtaking. This was the only Frank Lloyd Wright house ever completed in the city of Detroit and the only two-storey Usonian Automatic design (houses that use modular concrete blocks). This home was built in 1955 for Dorothy Turkel, who was, of all things, a parking lot heiress.
