Major additions don't always mean starting from scratch.

Here is a behind-the-scenes look at how we are expanding this footprint and adding a second floor—the smart way. Instead of a massive demolition, we are taking a highly targeted approach.

Why we love building this way:
Preserving the Core: We are carefully working around the existing home so we can leave the original first-floor ceilings completely untouched.
Surgical Additions: Building over and out requires serious structural precision, reducing unnecessary waste.
The Best of Both Worlds: Our clients get massive new square footage without losing the original soul (or the existing drywall!) of their home.

We are leveraging efficient design principles to manage construction budgets, ensuring every element works double duty. The challenge? Delivering a dramatic, luxurious experience without a dramatic budget. The solution? Leveraging the natural architecture—like these epic vaulted ceilings—and keeping the open spaces pure and purposeful. As you can see, that doesn't mean holding back on the drama. From the scalloped roofline to the poolside glamour, this era of architectural presentation just hits differently. We’re calling it right now: you are going to see a lot more trellises from us going forward.

Why the sudden obsession? Because an outdoor space isn't truly anchored until you give it a ceiling. A well-designed trellis frames the sky, defines the "room" without enclosing it, and gives us the perfect structural canvas to seamlessly integrate essentials like these outdoor heaters. Plus, nothing beats the dynamic, shifting geometry of those shadow lines throughout the day. Welcome to our trellis era.

Every home needs a space that feels entirely your own. This room was designed specifically as the wife's retreat—a true personal sanctuary. She had a clear vision: soft pink walls and a plush pink velvet couch. As architects, we love when a client brings a distinct personal style to the table. By grounding the soft, feminine tones with strong architectural elements like the dark exposed beams and crisp black window frames, the space feels perfectly balanced. It's soft, it's intentional, and it is unapologetically hers.
