Dear Friends,

Fall is officially upon us, bringing with it all the cozy feels that come with diminishing light and cooler temps. Even if the cold weather has not yet arrived in SoCal, the darker evenings invite us to curl up, hunker down and turn inward. Warm scented candles and hearty soups anyone? Soon the Halloween decor will slip into Thanksgiving and all the holiday trimmings, which seem to arrive earlier and earlier each year. We invite you to savor each season in its own right while trying not to succumb to the retail push for Christmas in October. There are many wonderful, seasonal happenings this month to help keep you in the moment, but here are some of the things we are loving at the moment.

Jennifer has become very fond of her Alex Mill tote bags. They can be personalized with a monogram and come in lots of fun colors. The Weekday Tote works for long days out and about and can carry everything but the kitchen sink (cuz who wants to bring that?). Meanwhile, Kale has been busy with a fall refresh of her home. It’s amazing what a new tablecloth or throw blankets and pillows can do to transform a space. Her favorite spot for this refresh has been her local Home Goods. And Nicole is looking forward to a visit to Bower Surf Club, a new restaurant by the same group behind her favorite breakfast spot, Blueys. If you haven’t tried Blueys you are in for a treat, the sweet squash pancakes are out of this world.

☀️Happy September☀️

Dear Friends,

Perhaps it was ingrained from childhood but we find that September often feels more like the true start of the year than January. Is it just us? As the transition from the hectic energy of summer’s end gives way to fresh starts and steady routines (assignment notebooks anyone?), we can’t help but feel a bit of anticipation and excitement. As we swap our beach gear for our favorite cozy layers, our attention naturally returns to the heart of our homes.

This transition often brings a new awareness to our space and how it may, or may not be, working for us—maybe you’re dreaming of a more organized mudroom to handle the daily hustle, or a quiet workspace tucked away from the kitchen, maybe even a living area that feels just a bit more inviting and purposeful. If spring is marked by cleansing and getting rid of the old, then fall is often about nesting and bringing new comforts into our lives. And here are a few new things we have discovered.

Jennifer has been upping her hydration game lately and has discovered Mela watermelon water as a great alternative to plain old tap or sparkling water. Cheers to that! Kale is thrilled to have the Palisades Farmer’s Market back on her Wednesday radar. Not only is it a great market but it is also nostalgic, bringing her right back to her childhood. Meanwhile, Nicole has been making the NYT Crispy Halloumi with Tomatoes and White Beans on repeat. It’s delicious as a meal, side dish or snack.
