Influenced by the iconic work of Wright, Schindler, Koenig, and Neutra, architect Forrest Theriot designed and built this gated Laurel Canyon compound as his personal residence in 1954, later featured in Architectural Digest and now reimagined by design firm Bob Audrey.
Set on over 15K feet of lush canyon grounds, the property pairs timeless mid-century architecture with a deeply considered modern restoration. Walls of glass, exposed post-and-beam details, clerestory windows, warm wood paneling, 1960s vintage Murano glass lighting by Carlo Nason, Waterworks fittings, custom Japanese tile, and layered garden views create interiors that feel soulful, tactile, and entirely one of a kind.
Completely hidden within the canyon, the property feels transportive, like a resort in Costa Rica. Surrounded by lush tropical greenery, birdsong, and total privacy, the terraced grounds unfold with a series of intimate moments designed for living and retreat.
The light throughout the day is extraordinary. From morning sun pouring through the walls of glass to golden-hour light casting across the interiors, the home constantly shifts in mood and atmosphere. As evening falls, the verdant greenery outside glows against softly illuminated pathways and layered landscape lighting, creating a cinematic feeling throughout the property.
Featuring 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a separate guest house, and a pool tucked quietly beneath the trees in an exceptionally private canyon setting, this is a rare Laurel Canyon offering unlike anything else on the market.
