Looking for the best place to live in Los Angeles right now? Here are five neighborhoods standing out as of late July 2026.

First, Silver Lake.
It still delivers that creative LA lifestyle—great restaurants, independent shops, architectural homes, and quick access to Downtown. The latest median sale price is around $1.4 million.
Next, Highland Park.

You get historic homes, a thriving food scene, and walkable stretches along York Boulevard and Figueroa Street. Homes are selling around a $1.2 million median.
Number three: Sherman Oaks.

It offers more space, a quieter residential feel, and convenient access to both the Valley and the Westside. Its latest median is roughly $1.35 million.
Fourth, Westchester.
