Following the incredible plumbing overhaul at the Los Angeles Mission, IAPMO Conference attendees took our commitment to public health a step further by assembling 1,000 hygiene kits for the local community.

Thank you to every volunteer and partner who took time out of their conference schedule to make a tangible, lasting local impact!

Good food, great company, and plenty of reasons to smile! ☀️

Students and staff at Los Angeles Mission came together to celebrate the end of summer with a BBQ filled with delicious food, dancing, musical chairs, and lots of laughter!

It was a chance to take a break from the everyday routine, enjoy time together, and create lasting memories.

Moments like these remind us that community is about more than meeting needs. It’s also about building connections, celebrating together, and finding joy in the little things.

At Los Angeles Mission, transformation goes beyond meeting immediate needs. It’s about caring for the whole person. 🙏💛

Melanie Ortiz, Director of Ministry and Church Partner Outreach, helps lead the spiritual vision of the Mission, working alongside our chaplains and teams to create a safe, supportive environment centered on the hope of Christ.

From discipleship classes to one-on-one spiritual support, ministry is woven throughout the work we do to help our neighbors break cycles of homelessness and poverty and move toward lasting transformation.

Hear from Melanie about the faith at the heart of our Mission and the hope she sees at work every day.

What an incredible night at Soundstage of Hope! 💛

We’re so grateful for the amazing people who came together in support of Los Angeles Mission and Hope the Mission for an evening filled with generosity, compassion, and community.

A special thank you to Jack Black, Flea, the Grohl family, John Mayer, and Annie Lennox for lending their talents and support to such a meaningful cause, along with the organizers, honorees, and everyone who helped make the evening possible.

Events like these remind us of the power of coming together to make a difference in the lives of our neighbors. 🙌

Every person who walks through our doors arrives with a different story, different needs, and a different path forward. 💛

For some, the first step may be a warm meal or a safe place to sleep. For others, it may be mental health support, spiritual care, education, employment, or simply having someone there to walk alongside them.

At Los Angeles Mission, this work happens 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. We meet people where they are and provide support for where they’re going.

This World Nonprofit Day, we’re grateful for the donors, volunteers, and community partners who make it possible to be here for our neighbors every single day.

Help us continue providing pathways forward. Head to the link in our bio and help change a life today.

Mental health is an important part of caring for the whole person.

At Los Angeles Mission, students have access to on-site mental health services as part of a holistic approach to healing and transformation: spiritually, physically, and mentally.

As World Mental Health Day approaches, we’re highlighting the importance of having support available when it’s needed most.

Looking back at one of our Pet Wellness events, we caught up with Shaka Smith, who has been giving his time to Los Angeles Mission through different volunteer opportunities for many years. 🐾💙

At this event, Shaka helped distribute pet supplies and shared why caring for our neighbors and their animals is an important part of building a supportive community.

For many of our neighbors, pets provide companionship, comfort, and support. Making sure they have resources to care for them is another way we can show our community that we care.

Thank you to all of our volunteers and donors who make moments of care like this possible. 🙌

Graduation is more than walking across a stage. For Damont, it represents a new beginning. 🎓💙

When he came through the doors of Los Angeles Mission, he was facing addiction, depression, and some of the most difficult moments of his life. Through faith, prayer, and the support of those around him, things began to change.

“I wasn’t proud of a lot of things in my life, but it’s a new beginning, a new life.”

Today, he’s celebrating how far he’s come and stepping forward into a new chapter. 🙏

Help make new beginnings like this possible by donating through the link in our bio.

Sometimes, making a difference starts with simply choosing to show up. 💙

For Volunteer Ambassador Teresa, giving her time, offering a smile, or treating someone with kindness can remind a person that they are seen, valued, and worthy of hope.

And that impact can come full circle. Some of the most powerful moments at Los Angeles Mission are seeing those who have received support go on to give their own time, energy, and resources to serve others. 🙏

As Teresa shares, the hope is that one day, no one will be left on the streets.

Choose to show up for your neighbors. Learn more about volunteering at Los Angeles Mission through the link in our bio.
