A successful first week with SBSS! We've had Zumba, Choir, Yoga, Bingo, Arthritis Exercise, and finished off the week with a luau themed social just to name a few of the fun programs and activities provided by SBSS. More fun is yet to come!

We are pleased to announce that effective August 19th, the St. Barnabas Senior Services Hollywood Senior Center has relocated to the Bethany Towers campus. We are excited to be collaborating with such a great organization and for the increased access to social services, transportation, as well as health and fitness programs that St. Barnabas is bringing to our residents. We are equally excited to open our doors to other seniors in the Hollywood area who come to the center to access these same services.

Every week Bethany Towers residents gather to participate in a drum circle. Last week we had three special guests all the way from Uganda. Teddy, Joan, and Irene told the residents of their experiences with Bead for Life. They then danced and sang while the residents played.

This Monday, April 22nd at 3:45pm Bethany Towers will be hosting Joan and Teddy, two extraordinary Ugandan women. Hear their stories as they tell of their experiences with Bead for Life, an organization dedicated to helping Ugandan women earn livable wages and support their families by assisting them in selling their beautiful beads. Following their brief remarks, all are invited to stay and participate in a drum circle.

Join us May 3rd at 6:30pm for a Candidate Forum and meet the two candidates in the runoff election for City Council District #13, John Choi and Mitch O'Farrell. This event will be a townhall style event with opportunities to ask questions of both candidates.
