Adam's real estate statistic of the day for LA County. The speed of sales in Los Angeles County homes is as fast as anyone here has seen. In July, 2021, the average home sold in 19 days on the market. An increase to 21 days in August, 2021 is still far below long term averages. Driven by low interest rates, fewer homes on the market and the strong demand from people wanting to buy, our prices are increasing still and there is no obvious catalyst to change this right now. Back when I first started as a real estate agent, one of my first clients was a young couple who dreamed of making an awesome outdoor space to host parties, watch the sunset and create a fun place to live the outdoor life we enjoy here in Los Angeles. This deck was the result of a lot of planning and discussion. Where to sit to have the best views at sunset? Should we have storage underneath? How to create a secret door to the 20+ acres of open space behind the top deck? Where should the fire pit go? Well, after some time and a LOT of effort, they built this deck and it has made them very happy.
