WAM! 2026 🎶🎨💛

Thank you to everyone who came out to the Westchester Art & Music Festival this weekend! I loved meeting so many new faces, catching up with familiar ones, and spending the day at the Neighborhood Council of Westchester/Playa booth. Such a great turnout this year.

One thing surprised me: so many people had no idea they have a Neighborhood Council, or what we actually do.

So, here’s the quick version.

The Neighborhood Council gives our community a formal voice at City Hall. We provide community input on issues including zoning, land use, housing, transportation and sustainability, and submit formal positions supporting, opposing or recommending changes to matters before the City.

We also weigh in on budgets, monitor City services, support local programs through community grants, and sponsor neighborhood events, youth programs and cleanup efforts.

And here’s the important part: we are your neighbors. The NCWP is made up of volunteer, elected board members who live, work and participate in our community.

Curious about what’s happening in Westchester, Playa del Rey and Playa Vista? Come to a meeting. Ask questions. Learn what’s being discussed. Elections are coming up, too, so it’s a great time to get involved.
