Some homes are so good they never even make it to market. This gorgeous South LA home got snapped up the day before we were going to list it. Why? Because we prepped, we planned, and the home was basking in its glow up!

Our sellers reached out last fall with plans to move out of state. With a 3 bed/2 bath home AND a 2 bed/1 bath fully permitted ADU in back, they had options. Should they rent the property? Should they rent the home and ADU separately? Should they sell? We ran the numbers, we examined the scenarios, we talked, we debated, and ultimately they decided to sell. That decision began a three-month process of purging, decluttering and updating. They used Compass Concierge, a program that helps sellers prepare their homes for market by covering the upfront costs of essential improvements and staging, without any upfront costs or hidden fees. They put in new flooring, painted the entire interior, updated kitchen cabinets, removed a pony wall and truly embraced the task of prepping their home for market. And it paid off! Excited to be featured on Canvas Rebel, an awesome site that profiles creatives (and yes, realtors are creatives too!). If you have a minute, it's worth a read, as it lands in September...my least favorite month, but an important month, as it's Su***de Prevention Awareness Month. From perseverance to resilience, I'm sharing my story of survival after loss in the hopes that it helps anyone who is picking themselves back up and starting over. You got this...and I do too.

Happy 47th, Tom! Six birthdays without you. Seems like you were just with us, yet a lifetime ago, all at once. Theo and I call these days LOVE DAYS. They're the days like birthdays, anniversaries, death anniversaries, Father's Day, where we'd normally be celebrating, but the sadness has a way of creeping in. So on these days, we LOVE, and we LOVE hard.

Last year, we started a new tradition, and we're going to keep it going! If you can, please live like Tom today! Order two entrees for breakfast, lunch or dinner; have a cheat day; eat some candy; pet (or adopt!) an animal; open a door for someone; pay for the person behind you in line; offer a sandwich to someone who may need one; play some good music really really loud--bonus points if it's Guns N Roses; go for a hike; head to the ocean or a lake; look extremely hot (😉); workout hard; pay it forward; and reach out to your friends.

I refused to accept June GLOOM and focused on all the things that BLOOM this past month. Got to go see live music with one of my soul sisters. Celebrated six years without my b***s and got a checkup to make sure I'll be here for another 60 years. Found joy in my jacaranda and all the beautiful flowers at listings from Long Beach to the Eastside. So much time spent in the car this month, helping buyers make dreams come true. Took the boy to meet his idol, and cherished the collaboration I have with other amazing realtors across LA. I found so much sunshine, and I hope you did too. Here's to all things that BOOM in July!
