When I moved to Los Angeles 15 years ago, I wasn't sure which neighborhood felt the most like home. One day during my search for a place to live, I sat at the Jamba Juice on the corner of Montana and San Vicente to hang out and get a feel for the area. LA was famous for its palm trees, but it was the Coral Trees across the street lining the median that caught my eye. To this day, those trees are one of the things I love most about Brentwood. This picture was taken from our drone at the corner of San Vicente and 26th facing east toward the village. That afternoon, we walked all the way in to Brentwood past Whole Foods, Toscana, and Sugar Fish and counted the number of Coral Trees along the way. Any guess how many?

Some good info on how Zillow's absurd Z-Estimates are a fly in the ointment to the good realtors of the world. I'm not sure 'fly in the ointment' is the right comparison here, but I'm sticking with it.

When "CBS This Morning" co-host Norah O'Donnell asked the chief executive of Zillow recently about the accuracy of the website's automated property value estimates — known as Zestimates — she touched on one of the most sensitive perception gaps in American real estate.

Hey Californians, that $68 billion/13 years to complete high speed train from SF to LA broke ground today. It took them 8 years to finish the off ramp at Wilshire and the 405. I'm sure this will be a snap!

California's bullet-train agency is set to officially start construction in Fresno on Tuesday on the first 29-mile segment of the system, a symbol of the progress the $68-billion project has made against persistent political and legal opposition.
