We're thrilled to bring two exciting culinary concepts to the north end of Los Gatos with the signing of new leases with Michelin-recognized Mentone Restaurant by David Kinch and James Beard-finalist Manresa Bread by Avery Ruzicka as the newest addition to The Junction Los Gatos. Mentone is a premier French-Italian coastal restaurant known for locally sourced cuisine, and Manresa was named by & Wine as one of the "best bakeries in America." Together, they're scheduled to break ground this September on 7,170 square feet in the Spur Building at The Junction — a Harmonie project transforming 68,000 square feet along Los Gatos Boulevard near Highway 85 into a mixed-use specialty retail and dining destination right across from Good Samaritan Hospital. In welcome news, the Supreme Court of California has declined to grant a petition that would have once again delayed a much-needed project in Livermore. This marks the third time the Supreme Court has rejected an appeal brought by the “Move Eden Housing” group and its members, ending years of repeated legal challenges.

Throughout this lengthy legal process, Eden Housing and the City of Livermore have remained steadfast in their commitment to provide safe, affordable housing for the local community. The two entities have been working together since 2018, when Eden Housing was selected to develop affordable housing on the site at the southeast corner of the Railroad Avenue and L Street – property the City of Livermore acquired between 2007 and 2009 specifically for this purpose.

The affordable housing portion of the Downtown Livermore Apartments is designed to provide 130 new one- to three-bedroom apartments for those earning between 20% to 60% of Alameda County’s area median income.

“We are deeply grateful to the City of Livermore and our many partners for their steadfast leadership and support throughout this effort,” said Linda Mandolini, President and CEO of Eden Housing. “We are eager to finally move this important project forward. Had it not been for these meritless lawsuits, 130 families would have already been living in high-quality, affordable homes for the past two years. We are encouraged by the Court’s decision and the numerous published opinions confirming our right to build this housing, and remain committed to bringing this much-needed housing to the community.”

This milestone reflects years of collaboration aligned with the Town’s Housing Element and shaped by extensive community input. The result is a thoughtfully designed plan that expands open space and delivers a diverse mix of housing options for a wide range of income levels.

For nearly 20 years, Harmonie Park has been committed to the North 40 vision, and this approval marks significant progress—helping the Town meet 25% of its housing obligations and advancing a mixed‑income community in the place we call home.
