In some parts of the Bay Area, we’re seeing three-story detached townhomes command a premium over attached versions, a dynamic that allows builders to boost value without sacrificing their density goals. Silicon Valley projects are especially innovative: alley-loaded homes, inviting porches, walkable sidewalks, and stacked floor plans are all ways to increase density while preserving that classic detached home vibe so many buyers love.
