As I start thinking about reimagining my own home office, I was thinking...there’s a big difference between setting up your laptop on your dining room table to work and actually having a designated work space where productivity flows. When we moved into our current home, the main goal was to get furniture and files into the office area, and deal with the rest later. Then quarantine happened, and I found myself sharing my office with our new found classroom as well. So, here are a few tips to transform your spontaneous work space into a productive home office:

Find an area of your home that can be your designated home office. Purchase your favorite office essentials- Pens, notepads, planners, photos and whatever else will help spruce up your space.

Add ambience- Plants, music you like to listen to, hang inspirational photos and allow yourself coffee and tea breaks. Of course, if you don’t have a space to create your dream office, you can always call me and we can start looking for your new home!

Another point in the pro column for owning a home? Puppies! Bringing home a new puppy is always exciting but is your home ready for it? Here are a few tips to puppy-proof your home:
1. Keep a lid on your trash at all times- Aside from the mess it can create, there could be items that are harmful to your new bundle of joy if they get into it.
2. Keep cords out of chewing range- The last thing you want is Fido to get an electrical shock. Keep all cords covered and provide plenty of chew toys that will make the cords less appealing.
3. Be careful of poisonous house plants- A house plant may appear innocent but many can cause problems from minor illnesses to more severe. Keep them out of reach or out of the house.
4. Take stock of chemicals- household cleaners, detergents, automotive and yard chemicals are bound to be in your home. Keep them locked tight away or out of puppies reach.
