This sale was a bittersweet one.
My longtime friend, artist Jeffery Beckerleg, and his significant other Vicki owned this truly special property. After losing their home in the Mosquito Fire, they made the difficult decision to move out of state to be closer to family—but their love for this place never faded.
Jeffery built the home himself using logs milled right from the land. His creativity was woven into every corner—from his large workshop where he crafted stained glass and sculpture, to the in-ground kiln he designed for firing his larger pieces. He was a talented artist, an early member of Art on the Divide Gallery, and shared his work in many galleries over the years.
We had talked about selling a few times before, and about a month ago Jeffery reached out one last time and said they were ready. As soon as the property hit the market, something incredible happened—friends and former neighbors stepped forward with an offer. Jeffery and Vicki were overjoyed knowing the property would be passed on to people who truly understood and cared for it.
Tragically, just before we were set to close escrow, Jeffery passed away. After a little extra time and care, we were able to complete the sale and transfer the property to its next stewards.
This one will always stay with me. Honored to help carry out Jeffery’s final wish and see his beloved property continue its story. ❤️
